My latest single, Household, was released to Canadian Country Radio and all online platforms on March 22, 2021. Packed full of raw emotion, Household tells a piece of my recent personal journey. I co-wrote this song with the talented Kelly Seidel in Nashville TN and it comes from a very honest place. A lot of hard work, heart, and dedication goes into building a house, both literally and figuratively. When the love that held that household together fell apart and there was nothing left in the house to hold it was truly devastating. Instead of letting it break me, I picked up the pieces and moved to Nashville, focusing on my music and turning my heartbreak into songs. I was blessed to live in Nashville for 9 months before the pandemic brought me back to Canada. I hope to return to Nashville soon and am working towards that goal.
I usually record in Nashville TN with Daniel Dennis at Prime Cut Studio, however due to the pandemic and closed borders I had to record Household in Canada. I definitely missed working with Daniel, but it forced me to get out of my comfort zone working with a new producer and new musicians who I had not worked with previously. I recorded Household at MCC Studio in Calgary AB with the talented producer/engineer/musician Johnny Gasparic and a team of incredible musicians. I also co-produced the song and played piano in the recording as well as sang my own harmonies. I was blessed to be able to film a music video to promote Household in the 2021 Red Deer Hospital Lottery Dream Home in partnership with Sorento Custom Homes and Randy Rich Films.
